"Journal intime de quartier" is the initial project of the non-profit organization Habitant.e.s des Images. Visibilizing the word of the invisible is the idea of the diary, and of the association in general. The whole, based on the world of culture and art, social work and political demands.

This year, the newspaper is rooted in the North-West area of Brussels (Jette, Ganshoren, Koekelberg and Berchem) and started in mid-November 2020.
"There is a lot of talk today about travel and international migration, but the journey is also local! Even without moving, when one's neighborhood changes. When must one define oneself in a double, triple inherited identity: traveling in the commune, a commune that receives many new inhabitants, people of foreign origin increase, housing issues, etc.? Forced travel (accessibility of housing) deliberate travel (green commune). Travelling through the communes of the Brussels Capital Region, local travel, discovering what's out there by simply turning a corner. Travel and borders: do borders exist? Administrative borders (here of the Communes), mental borders, etc. Travelling between town and country. Travelling is taking the time, not getting caught up in the stress of the city. The journey of identity: identity in evolution. Travelling in order to know, to form an image of a place that does not (yet) have an identity in the mental maps. »
Thus was defined the theme of this neighbourhood diary: the inner journey.

The participants come from many different backgrounds: the editorial committee is the people we see every Monday at the Archipel 19 cultural center, composed of people from the municipality who responded to the call for projects, and people from the mental health community. We did some workshops in a squat, where the majority of the participants are undocumented people.
And finally, we launched "calls" (calls for action and calls for borders), which brought in participants from all walks of life.
